World Communion Sunday: October 1, 2023
World Communion is about God’s peace and reconciliation being for all. For this year’s World Communion our theme was on pilgrimage. We made space to consider and reflect on the many ways and places our church participated in pilgrimage and journey this summer. We heard testimonies from those who journeyed to Taize, Iona, Massanetta, and Letohrad, and provide them below.
We’re mindful of the small but beautiful connections we’ve made around the world and grateful for a glimpse of the wideness of God’s mercy and presence.
World Communion Sunday Reflection: Set Down Your Burdens at Taizé
The song that spoke to me the most, and still does, is Fiez-Vous en Lui.
World Communion Sunday Reflection: Iona with John Phillip Newell
…as I travelled each leg of the trip, I was reminded of the what going on retreat means to me—being able to let go of my usual routines and usual way of seeing people, places and situations.
World Communion Sunday Reflection: Joy in Letohrad with our Church Partnership
Thank you to the congregation for their continued support of this very special partnership.
